FTW Chyknell Farthing - Phoenix 2006- 2020
Phoenix was my first taste of victory when I won a novice with her at the South West Scotland Gundog Association. She has had 2 seconds in Open Qualifying Stakes and been in the run off 4 times. The amount of open field trial awards she has had are far too many to mention. She has been the most honest and reliable cocker I have ever had with great style and fantastic marking and retrieving ability. And has been very unfortunate not to qualify for the championship on a few occasions
I think, if I am honest, we learned a lot from each other which stood me in good stead for the future. She has a wonderful temperament. This is why Phoenix has been my favourite dog so far. Phoenix has produced some of the best puppies we have bred to date and looking back I wish now we had kept more of her offspring. They do say quality rather than quantity is the key and it has certainly been the case with her as she only tended to have four or five pups in each litter. It is only now that we are seeing them starting to shine. We currently have Rosie and Jake from Phoenix. Rosie, who has qualified for this years championship and Jake - who is only 18 months old and has more ability than any dog I've had. |
